Mission Statement

Ako Apparel was created in November of 2008 by Alix Ako & Chris Haider. "A'ko" translates to "me" or "I" in Tagalog. When you wear the Ako brand you are basically saying this brand I'm wearing is about "ME". Though it's begining roots is Pinoy, the ultimate goal as the company grows is to be a universal brand.

2011

This year Ako Apparel will be reprinting all 1991 and up DarkSide Products shirts as well as new AKO/DSP designs to celebrate our 20th anniversary!

No new Filipino designs will be released as Ako Apparel, all new Filipino shirts will be under the Island Blue Apparel. DarkSide Products will be following our old school b-boy/hip hop traditional designs, while Ako Apparel will take on a bmx/skate look.

The Ako Apparel "Me, Myself and I" collection will be out soon. We will be releasing a new shirt with limited runs every few weeks. The first set of DarkSide Products reprints will be all "the black and white" old school graph designs by local old school artist.

Stay tuned because this will be an exciting year for us as we take this step into the New Year with a new direction.
